Enya Obert

About me

Born in Berlin in 1997 and raised in Cologne, I have always been drawn to the intersection of art, technology, and design. In September 2024, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design from Folkwang University of the Arts.

For my bachelor's thesis, I explored the concept of immersion, delving into immersive media and technologies from both a creative and theoretical perspective. The result was an immersive spatial and VR installation that offers a unique, multi-dimensional experience of time perception.

Alongside my studies, I worked independently as an audiovisual artist and designer, specializing in real-time audio-reactive visuals. My work translates every measurable aspect of music and sound into a visual language, fusing technology and art to enhance live performances with immersive, multi-sensory experiences. In this sense, my instruments are the computer, projector, and light.

My creative background is deeply interdisciplinary. Throughout my education, I engaged with various artistic fields, taking dance lessons, playing piano and organ, and singing in a gospel choir. At home, I was surrounded by costume design and computer programming, which fueled my passion for both fashion and digital creative coding. These influences have shaped my approach, fostering a strong interest in collaborations with dancers, musicians, and other artists.

Before immersing myself in the world of design and generative art, I completed degrees in Art History and Philosophy in Bonn in 2020. These studies deepened my appreciation for aesthetics, theory, and the power of creative expression, providing a strong conceptual foundation for my artistic practice.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to interactivity and audience engagement, creating spaces where individuals can shape their own immersive experiences.
