The result of this project was a fictional poster created through an unconventional design process. The goal was to step away from purely digital tools like Photoshop and return to analog methods - while also embracing experimentation. The focus was on discovering alternative, hands-on approaches, selecting unique materials, and pushing creative boundaries.
The process began with generative graphics drawn by a pen plotter, using different types of pens and utensils, many of which were water-soluble (plotter videos are available on my YouTube channel). These drawings were then subjected to various treatments - exposed to water in controlled ways using sponges, water guns, and different application techniques, such as letting water flow horizontally or vertically. This phase allowed the rigid, geometric patterns to dissolve and transform into more organic, unpredictable compositions.
Once intriguing textures and structures emerged, the composition was finalized using digital tools. A particularly exciting discovery was the use of these organic patterns as black-and-white masks in Photoshop, merging analog and digital elements seamlessly.
The final result is a visually striking piece that demonstrates the creative potential unlocked when stepping beyond conventional design processes.
"Our destiny is not frightening because it is unreal; it is frightening because it is irreversible and unyielding. Time is a river that carries me away, but I am the river; it is a tiger that devours me, but I am the tiger; it is a fire that consumes me, but I am the fire."
